Bed Sizes Australia: Your Guide to Sheet, Quilt and Pillowcase Sizes

Not all mattresses are created equal. And neither are sheets. Let’s break down Australian sizes so you can match your bed to the right It-Fits® sheet.

What is my bed size?

If you’re unsure, grab a measuring tape. Measure the width x length of your mattress in centimetres. Here's how our fitted sheets match Australian standard beds:

Pillowcase Sizes

Our envelope-style pillowcases are designed to fit standard and ergonomic pillows with room to move—no zips or buttons needed.

Pillow Sizes

Most standard pillows are 50 x 75 cm, and our pillowcases are generously sized to suit them perfectly.

Pillow Protector Sizes

We don’t currently offer pillow protectors, but our cases are soft, breathable, and gentle on skin, made from the same cotton jersey as our fitted sheets.

Mattress Protector Sizes

We don’t currently offer mattress protectors in the It-Fits® range—but if you’re using one, it’s important to factor it into your sheet depth.

Our fitted sheets are designed to stretch and fit mattresses up to 37 cm deep, which allows room for most mattress toppers or protectors you may already be using.

Choose the right size quilt cover for your quilt

While some brands suggest sizing up for a draped look, that’s not our recommendation. Because our doona covers are made from stretchy jersey, they’re designed to move with your quilt and create a smooth, comfortable fit.

If your cover is too large, you’ll end up with empty corners and a quilt that shifts around inside, not ideal. For the best sleep (and the neatest bed), we recommend matching your quilt cover to the size of your quilt.

Layer your bedding like you layer your clothes

Use flat sheets in warmer weather or under a doona for layered comfort. All our flat sheets are made from the same breathable cotton jersey.

What are standard queen size quilt/doona dimensions in cm?

210 x 210 cm.

What are the standard king size quilt measurements?

Our King size quilt cover is made to fit quilts measuring 240 x 210 cm, which is the standard king quilt size we support.

What is the standard super king quilt cover size?

We don’t currently offer a super king doona cover. For best fit, choose a king size quilt and matching cover.
