Australian beds come in standard sizes. Single. Double. Queen. King.
But not all beds fit those sizes.
Your mattress might be a caravan bunk. It could be an adjustable bed that's a different height. Maybe it's thicker than most mattresses. Maybe it's a bit wider or narrower than the norm.

Why Material Matters More Than Custom Sizing
Standard fitted sheets are made from woven cotton. It's a fixed fabric. It doesn't stretch. When you buy a Queen woven sheet, it's Queen-sized. Period.
That's why it fails when your bed is non-standard. The sheet can't adapt.
Jersey is different. It's knitted, not woven. It stretches in all directions.

How Much Does Jersey Flex?
Jersey fitted sheets flex up to 8 centimetres longer, shorter, wider, or narrower than standard Australian sizes. They also fit mattresses up to 37 centimetres deep, which covers most toppers and electric bed bases.
That flexibility solves most non-standard bed problems without any custom manufacturing.
Some examples of beds jersey sheets fit well:
- Adjustable electric beds. The sheet flexes as the bed moves. The 360-degree elastic hem grips all the way around, not just the corners. Even when the bed adjusts, the sheet stays on.
- Caravan bunks. Most caravans have non-standard mattresses. Split Queen sheets fit caravan bunks perfectly. Two Small Single sheets, each 76 centimetres wide, adapt to narrow spaces.
- Deeper mattresses. If your mattress is thicker than average, or you use a topper, jersey stretches to accommodate the extra depth. Woven sheets can't.
- Odd dimensions. Maybe your bed is 5 centimetres wider than a standard Queen, or 3 centimetres shorter. Jersey flexes to fit.
