Understanding Flat Sheet Sizes in Australia

When it comes to buying bed sheets, it's important to get the right size to ensure a proper fit. While fitted sheets are designed to fit snugly around your mattress, flat sheets are meant to cover the top of your bed and provide an extra layer of warmth and comfort. In Australia, flat sheet sizes can vary depending on the manufacturer and type of bedding, so it's important to know what to look for.

At It-fits, we offer flat sheets in a range of sizes to fit your needs. Besides our Un-tuck flat sheets we now offer Standard sized flat sheets.

Standard flat sheet sizes

These sheets work perfectly for those who like their sheets tucked in nice and snug for a cosy night’s sleep. The Single and Double sized flat sheets are now 40 cm longer than our Un-tucked flat sheets and the Queen and King Size is 35 cm longer.

Queen and King sized flat sheets are now 35 cm longer than our Un-tucked flat sheets.

Our newly designed Standard flat sheets are now following the standard of traditional Australia Flat sheets / Top Sheets. Pair this perfectly with our fitted sheet and doona covers.

The big difference however is that It-fits bedding is made from 100% Australian cotton jersey; making our sheets feel uniquely soft, delightfully smooth and supremely comfortable on your skin. Thanks to the naturally breathable, antiallergenic and thermo-regulating features of cotton, combined with the highly breathable, stretchy and soft structure of jersey fabric; Itfits sheets takes the comfort of bedding to a whole new level. It’s as if you are being hugged by a cloud.

Un-tucked flat sheet sizes

These sheets sit loosely on top without much excess, so you don’t feel boxed in when you want to spread out and keep cool. Pair this perfectly with our fitted sheet for those balmy nights when a doona is too warm. To be used loosely over the bed and not tucked in.

The Un-tucked flat sheets will remain whilst stocks last, and will eventually be succeeded by our latest product. So, if you prefer our original size, get in fast.

Fitted sheets itfits recommend before determining the size of bed sheets you need, it's important to know the dimensions of your mattress in centimeters. For instance, if your king-size mattress measures 190cm x 203cm, then you should purchase a standard bed sheet set that matches these dimensions. If you have an extra-long or super king-sized mattress that measures 215cm x 229cm, then you should purchase an extended length doona cover mattress set that matches these dimensions.

The next step is to determine how much extra doona cover length you want compared to your standard size. For example, if your standard queen-size doona cover bed measures 183cm wide and 203cm long, then you would order a queen-sized long sheet instead of a queen-sized standard sheet.

Keep in mind that each centimeter on the mattress equals about 0.39 inches. So, if your king single sheets mattress measures 99cm x 203cm, that would equal about 6 inches of extra length for these particular king single sheets set.

If you're looking for a comfortable and durable fabric for your next hotel stay, consider using a bed fitted sheet. When purchasing a fitted sheet, consider your needs and lifestyle to find the right fit for you. You can use the bed sheets as part of a comforter set, or as an extra layer on top of the bedsheets.

The size of your itfits fitted sheet will depend on the size of your mattress and the space between each side of the bed. The dimensions below are general guidelines only, as each manufacturer has their own specifications for fitted sheet size and fit:

Twin: 99cm x 191cm

Full: 137cm x 191cm

Queen: 152cm x 203cm

King: 193cm x 203cm

Fitted sheets are available in standard and memory foam options, as well as different colors and styles. If you have a memory foam mattress, make sure to choose a compatible fitted sheet that won't reduce its effectiveness as an insulator against heat transfer.

It's important to measure your mattress, box spring, and/or bed frame to determine the correct size of fitted sheet. If you're not sure what type of mattress you have, check out our Bed Fitting Guide or contact us for assistance.

Bed fitted sheet sizes are determined by the height and width of the cotton sheets, so you'll need to measure your cotton sheets to determine the size of your fitted sheet. Bed fitted sheet sets are made with a flat sheet that fits over the top of the cotton sheets and a matching pillowcase. The size of a fitted sheet depends on the width of the mattress, while its depth is determined by your height.

The most common bed fitted sheet sizes are twin (56cm x 91cm), full (76cm x 191cm), queen (152cm x 203cm), king (193cm x 203cm), and Australia king (183cm x 203cm). Make sure to measure your mattress to ensure you get the right fit for your bed.

When buying a fitted sheet, there are a few things to look for. First, make sure the size matches the rest of your bedding set. Second, consider the thread count. The higher the thread count, the softer and more luxurious the sheet will feel on your skin. Finally, avoid buying sheets with logos or brand names that give away its price range and quality level.

To ensure your bed is made correctly, double-check the dimensions of your mattress, including its length, width, and height. Fitted sheets are a great way to add a personal touch to your bedroom, as they come in a wide range of styles and colors to suit your decorating style. The best sheets can be found at itfits
